Special
Events
Annual
Funday
The church holds a yearly fun day in the
Dobbie
Hall around September. This day usually attracts around 300 children.
It is an attempt
to demonstrate the Church's concern for families by providing a free
event to which parents and children can come and enjoy quality family
time together. Activities including Beat-the-Goalie, Sock-the-rat,
Bouncy Castle, Ball pit and many others are available free for all the
children. Café and crafts stalls are also available. All
proceeds from the fun day are donated to various children’s
charities.
Open Day
Around
April/May every year
the church holds an Open Day for the public. Inside the church
a
cafe, many craft stalls and a short film featuring all the
activities the church undertakes and information leaflets on these
activities are available. A car boot
sale also takes place at the same time in the church car park.
All proceeds from this Open Day are donated to the Katona
M
Graham Care Centre
in Brazil.
Ceilidh
On Saturday 3rd March the Church organized a
Fundraising Ceilidh for missions, which was supported by several other
churches
and raised £1000. This
was split between
the Katriona M Graham Care Centre in Brazil
and the Teen Challenge drug rehabilitation project in Scotland.
Bowling
& Charity Auction Night
Every
October the
church has an evening of ten-pin bowling followed by a supper and an
auction in the church. All proceeds from the auction are donated to
FEBA radio (missionary radio station).
Singathon
Recently the church had a Singathon and
raised over £1400 for
the Anthony Nolan trust.
