In March 2008 Pastor Michael and Ben Moffat went on a Missions Trip to Kenya and Burundi, following invitations from Masai and Karen Kahindi (missionaries to Kenya), and Peter and Jenny Kay (missionaries to Kenya and Burundi).
While in Kenya Michael and Ben encouraged the local missionaries, spoke to leaders and preached in the local Church. They also shared in the Nairobi Pentecostal Bible College and visited orphanage projects. Despite the political crisis/unrest at the time, and the Foreign Office strongly advising against travel, the Lord kept them safe and gave them a blessed time, with many precious memories.
In Burundi, they taught in leadership seminars for local Church leaders, in the district of Rutana, along with Peter Kay. Approx 160 pastors and leaders attended. These seminars were sponsored by the generosity of the Larbert Church. They also spent time with Church leaders and missionaries and preached at a local Church where many came to faith.
Upon their return, they had a burden to raise finance to buy land in Burundi to help the local Christians income generate, and teach better farming methods to the secondary school students. The finance (approx £1500) was raised very quickly and sent to Burundi within 3 weeks of their return. To God be the Glory.
